What’s in a name? The name ‘Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy’ may conjure for you an idea of an abdominal massage, and it is, and it is so much more too! This massage lineage combines Rosita Arvigo’s Naprapathy expertise with the techniques she learned during her 13 years apprenticing with Don Elijio Panti, a traditional Maya healer. Credit should also be given to the Maya midwife, Ms. Hortense Robinson, whose influence shaped this body of work.
Did you know, in addition to the abdominal work, there is a whole Arvigo protocol for work on the back, hips and pelvis? This work is amazing! It effectively alleviates lower back, hip and pelvic pain (and/or numbness) by tending to connective tissue restrictions, areas of congestion, and structural mis-alignments. Like all Arvigo work, the aim is to improve our vital flows: blood, lymph, nerve and chu’lel (life energy) so that our bodies are free to heal, regenerate, and self-regulate with ease.
*Keep in mind, we are 3-dimensional beings. By creating more ease in the back-hip-pelvis the abdominal structures are positively impacted and vice versa.
